World Bank, interested in new projects in Romania

The World Bank (WB) wishes to continue the ongoing projects in Romania and identify new cooperation possibilities with the Romanian authorities.

According to a release from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Environment (MECMA), Economy Minister Ion Ariton met on Tuesday a WB delegation led by François Rantrua, country manager for Romania within Europe and Central Asia region.

On this occasion, the WB official assured economy minister of the institution's entire willingness regarding the continuation of the ongoing projects and finding some new cooperation possibilities.

Ion Ariton tackled the issue regarding the establishment of the two energy companies, energy sector and the reconstruction of mining areas, and added the present collaboration between ARDDZI and WB was very efficient.

MECMA official underscored the importance of developing new partnerships with WB, given the need to draw investments and make efficient the projects had in view by the Romanian state.

In this context, François Rantrua presented the programme of sector functional analyses that he has been unfolding in Romania in twelve major fields and proposed the introduction of the energy sector into this programme, Agerpres reports.
